The American Camp Association is the leading authority in youth development, and we use their standards to guide our decision-making process in all aspects of camp. These strict guidelines ensure a safe and fun summer for campers, staff, and camper families.
- Our staff is trained in every activity we offer before campers arrive.
- Staff is also First Aid, and CPR certified. This summer, a selected group of counselor will also be Lifeguard certified and will be on duty during pool use.
- A Camp Health Aide will attend to any medical needs that arise and administer medications that you send.
- We will make sure your child stays hydrated and fed throughout the day.
- Also, we have a child protection plan in place to ensure that Camp RIO is a healthy, safe place for your child to thrive!
- A fence secures our entire camp property with two entrance gates kept locked and monitored with security cameras at all times.
- We have rigorous policies on who we allow into the campgrounds. All visitors must also report to the main office for a background screening.
- Approved visitors are accompanied by a staff member at all times.
- Campers are never left unsupervised, and counselors follow the rule of 3: Counselors and campers must always travel in a group of 3 at all times.
- Camper updates are provided to parents through the CAMPANION app.
- We want the safest camp experience for your child and welcome your input or suggestions on our policies.
