The health and safety of our staff and campers is our number one priority! We implemented preventative safety procedures detailed below that proved successful during summer 2021. We will continue to monitor and implement recommendations by the CDC, ACA, and the State of Texas for summer 2022.
Camp RIO values the safety of your children. We have developed the following protocols to help your children have a safe summer camp experience (photo taken in April 2020).
Limiting Camper groups to 10 or less (photo taken in April 2020)
Day Camp – Mask wearing is highly recommended but not mandated for all campers and staff. Day campers will be kept in groups of 10 or less.
Overnight Camp – Overnight campers will be given a COVID test when arriving at camp. Upon receiving a negative test, overnight campers will not be required to wear a mask and be kept in their own cohort.
Having one staff member stay with each group and not interchange with any group (photo taken in April 2020).
Having all activities outside and in open spaces
Have mealtimes separated into camp groups (no more than 10 eating with the same group) (photo taken in April 2020)
Putting siblings together in the same groups (photo taken in April 2020)
Frequent hand washing and sanitizing throughout the day (photo taken in April 2020).
